what is functional nutrition?

A Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner™ (FNTP) works with human physiology and function every day – the results for health and wellness for our clients are profound.

If you are wondering what nutrition has to do with your current health concerns. It all comes down to cells. When our cells are nutrient deficient, we go on a downward spiral as this impacts our organs and our organ systems.

As a FNTP my role is to assist my clients to re-establish cellular health. To do this, I seek to understand the warning signs and signals your body gives every day about underlying dysfunction.

The Functional Clinical Assessment – or functional testing – is a clinical tool that allows me to assess where dysfunction lies within the body and find the nutrients that support the body into balance.

Functional testing uses the innate connection between the nerve endings at skin level and the body’s internal organs to determine not just where support is needed, but what support is best suited to your body.

Using the results of the questionnaires you complete and the functional testing, I will test several nutrients to understand which ones will assist your body's recovery. You will be amazed at how the tenderness rating at various points will change when the right nutrient to help it heal is presented. That's what we mean about the "body's innate intelligence" – we are incredibly complex organisms with the ability to heal ourselves if given the chance through the right nutrients and choices we make each day.

This functional testing clinical tool allows me to completely tailor my recommendations and protocols to your individual body and needs.

There is no one size approach to healing any issue with our functional nutrition process.
